April Aryan
Owner
April Aryan, the owner and trainer, learned from the best resources in the industry. She grew up riding and showing on the "A" circuit at age 8 with "The Howards" (Fox Meadow Farm), under Polly Howard. At age 10, April was given a large pony “Tuffy” for a Christmas gift. Tuffy and April both being green grew and learned together. They rewrote the record books.
Her early accomplishments include 5th in the nation at Pony Finals, qualified five years in a row for the Medals, Maclays, and numerous Zone 5 Champion and Res. Champions by age 13. She was a top-ranked equitation rider in her junior years. April's expertise, for both horse and rider, is unparalleled in the local area.
April continues to ride competitively, training and developing her own warmbloods imported from the Netherlands. April maintains a robust network that includes top breeders, farriers, veterinarians, and trainers, like John and Beezie Madden, both in the US and in Europe. After managing and owning several farms of her own in MI, SC and GA, she has decided to give up her amateur status and begin sharing her wealth of knowledge by training & boarding out of her own farm.
As a mother of two children and a life-long rider, April enjoys working with and training riders of all ages. She enjoys being around others who enjoy, appreciate, and care for horses as much as she does.
The name Tuff Competition Farms is named after April's first large pony "Tuffy".
April is a very attentive instructor who listens to the riders concerns and addresses them. Never pushes the horse or rider farther than they are comfortable with!
